Default Manitowoc

What is going on with Manitowoc? When I went home to visit it looked like they tore out every street in the city. Are they trying to revitalize? I hope so, I always thought it would be a great place to live, because of the lakefront. I know in the past they have had their share of problems in the economy, but I saw Lowes, Kohls, and Walmart coming in. Wondering if it is on the upswing again! Can anyone tell me what is going on? This city could be SO attractive!

They are putting in a giant water pipeline, which is probably what you saw near the lakefront. Also, they are redoing Rapids Road on the other side of the city.

I really hope that Manitowoc is on the upswing--I just moved here, and while I like the area, I am a bit starved for things to do, and for some decent food/shopping! Lowes is here (and was a godsend when we were getting our house ready to move into), Kohls is still a rumor, and a Starbucks is coming in--whether you love or hate these places, hopefully it's a sign of good economic times for the city.

I feel for Manitowoc what they have gone through with mirro. My aunt used to work there her whole life. I know it has been quite a few years. My job sometimes requires me to fly to customers and one of then is Burger Boat co. I think they are doing quite well. I don't remember I think it is Spring st. Good you have a Lowe's!! My parents live in Wausau and to go to Lowe's they have to drive 35 miles to Plover!!!! Wausau has Kohl's and where I live in Cali I can walk to Kohl's in like 5 minutes.HEHEH my sister works at Kohl's in Colorado!!! Manitowoc downtown was weird to me, therre is a huge budweiser factory there!!! Cool for Starbucks!! I know Starbucks is like everywhere now!! I just love the name and I hear my mother pronounce 'manowok' instead of 'manitowoc'!!!

I gave you some ideas before about Mirro being sold to Global Home Products and then Group SEB in France, considering how long its been will be tough for you to get information. You could make some calls to the city or to the Chamber of Commerce.

I haven't run into anyone here that had a connection to Mirro, a few friends who have always lived here say they don't know anyone that worked there.
