A 7 year old thread that had been dormant since 2009, with 5 pages of discussion, and then since March, there are 20 pages? Zowie.

It's OK if you don't like where you live, but if the only action that one takes is to kvetch about how much they hate where they live, then it's pretty futile.

Wisconsin has some very beautiful rural areas, seasonally, some of those areas are some of the most beautiful anywhere. The northwoods at peak color are spectacular. The drive along the western state line up the Mississippi is also beautiful, and many more areas are pretty and charming and quaint. Some areas are flat and frankly quite unappealing to me, just miles of farm fields, with few trees and no hills. The urban areas, like any other state, can be very nice, or very blighted.

I find Wisconsinites to be friendly, at first in a polite way, but when one gets to be known, most folks are warm and inviting. There are exceptions to this, of course, but as a general rule of thumb. I think that most rural midwestern folks are the same way. The closer one gets to urban areas, the less that this applies, in my experience.

Uh-huh, I'm angry and you aren't. Hilarious.

Let's get back on topic:

So how did you enjoy the beautiful warm sunny day today? How many people ignored you as you said hello to them today?
