Best Wisconsin town/area to raise a family
In your opinion what is the best town/area in Wisconsin to raise a family, and why?

Okay. I deleted my other post because I was kind of being snarky.
To make a long story short, there is no such thing as a "best place". Only what's best for you.

Yes, I agree. I'm only looking to hear what towns/areas people have loved living and raising a family.

What size population are you looking for? Very small town? (less than 10K) Small city? (less than 100K) Wide place in the road? (less than 1000)
My DH has developed "a thing" for Stevens Point. We live in Appleton, but he travels all over the northern half of the State and just loves it over there. Says the town is very cute and the people very friendly. If we were staying in WI, we would probably relocate over to Stevens Point.

This question isn't really for me, per se. I guess I was kind of taking a poll, without setting up an official poll. I'm just wondering where people have enjoyed raising their families in Wisconsin.
BTW, I love Stevens Point, too. I really do. Love that town and the whole area.

It would be easy to answer if raising a family weren't involved. Once you throw school systems, access to playmates and sports into the mix it gets complicated. I'm still trying to figure out what's best for my family. I'd like to move somewhere more rural with a small town where everyone knows everyone else. We also like Steven's Point area.

The Lake Country area in SE Wisconsin is one of the best. The Waukesha county schools are the best in the state, and Wisconsin schools are some of the best in the country.
Oconomowoc, Delafield, Hartland are fantastic areas to raise a family, and they are not too far from Milwaukee and Madison. The area has very little serious crime, but yet there is plenty for the kids to do. There are 25 to 30 lakes in the county, most in the north west near the areas mentioned.
Been here 28 years, and don't want to leave (except in January)

I live about 20 miles north of Stevens Point. It is a great area. It is a growing area. It has a nice mix of older and newer homes. Lots of new business in the area.

There are so many incredible choices to make. We love the north woods. But it is so pretty around LaCrosse. I also love the area around Appleton going north into Door County. I haven't been to a place yet in WI that I haven't found great towns and friendly people.

I lived in Manitowoc when my kids were little and loved it. they still have fond memories of the area. when we were there they could be a kid. run and play and ride bikes without me driving my car beside them to make sure they were safe. unlike here in ca my daughter will be 17 next month and she's still not allowed to go anywhere alone.
