No luck here. I stomped around the woods this weekend trying to push the non-existant deer!

I did hear a few guys in the bar complaining that bowhunting was hurting the gun crowd. Not sure on all that. I suppose that's a whole new topic!

Seen big load of hides but unsure where they came from.
I heard a good one today..
How many reindeer does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

52 as the Department of Natural Resourses counted them.

Seriously bow hunting kills were down also.Late crops had deer feedig well, trespassers screwing it up for the rest of us has seen much hunted land become posted and no hunting so a perfect deer haven. Hunting pressure was down in my area as think many gave up after opening weekend as no deer.
Coyotes and wolves sure were spotted a plenty though.

Maybe they all came to the east side! All the fellows in my neighborhood had good luck, don't know if they were right in our area but I think so. I noticed the road to the state forest was packed, totally lined up with cars/trucks along sides of the road. They were able to hunt at Woodland Dunes, too, a big area but I don't think as big as the state forest (Point Beach).

dreamhunter ... a lot more land was posted where we were. Did see a lot of coyote tracks too. I think you can shoot coyotes south of 64 due to the large open fields, but north of it is a no go. (Not saying anyone should or that the 64 thing is correct)

I was hunting just north of 64 in Taylor county and it is a no kill coyote zone. I seen 1 a nice red was very tempting. Friend seen wolf in Chippewa county standing in a field. Coyote hunting is big here when snows as many large groups with hounds. Line used to be 27-64 and unsure of East side of state that was off limit coyotes during deer gun season. I am taking son out this winter calling coyotes see if can get a few.

I know a few areas had real good luck but then other areas nothing. If had more pressure and/or snow more likely to see them.

I came within 8 inches of shooting an 8-pointer with the front bumper of my car last weekend. I've already had too many car-wildlife encounters, thankyouverymuch.
