We had good luck in northern Waupaca county. My son and his family got three deer for bow season and three more during gun. One was a nice buck.
Can we post dead buck pictures Josh?
I'll just post a picture of the rack.

Hntr, if you want to go ahead!
This is Wisconsin and people after all know this is part of our culture. After all we evolved from hunter-gatherers. Right?
So go ahead and post the whole deer, I for one would like to see it.

Thanks Josh!
This buck was seen several times during bow season by both my son and my grandson, always a little too far for a decent shot. A couple of weeks before gun season he broke the tine on his right side. Tuesday morning he was chasing a doe back and forth, gradually they worked their way close enough for a shot. He was taken at about forty yards with a shotgun.

DNR believes they underestimated the effect of last winter on the herd.
They also point to more pre-season baiting of deer, which tends to congregate the herds in smaller areas, and to less time in the woods per hunter.
