I was wondering what the current ice thickness levels are looking like for northern areas of Wisconsin around the Vilas and Oneida county region? I am planning on making a trip out that way in two weeks for ice fishing and snowmobiling on the local trails. I see that your temps have been very cold recently so I would suspect fairly good conditions?

I bet it is fine. Lake Wausau is frozen and people are ice fishing. I did see some people driving on it this weekend.

Went by Crescent Lake last week and many shacks on the ice and trucks on it also. Here in Rusk County / Chipewa County people are driving on Lake Holcombe and such and that is a flowage so takes a bit longer and heard fish hitting great.
They also had more snow that way but unsure if they got rain like we did here.

It has been below zero many mornings, heck, some days we don't even see 0, so I imagine the ice is thick enough. They are ice fishing around here.

Snow fall is good unsure which county trails are open yet . Rusk County has not opened trails as of yet but sure will soon as getting snow finally. Ice is getting nice and thick and fishing has been great from what I been hearing.
