Mixed signals out there on the storm for tonight depends on where you get info! Weather channel has backed off our totals, TV out of Green Bay says we'll get alot due to the lake effect kicking in, and NOAA is somewhere in between!
I guess I'd say your guess is good as mine. I know Waukegan (NE Illinois) is supposed to get around a foot. A friend called to say he wouldn't come to see me this weekend he'd be plowing snow.

You got that right, will this go down as the coldest December in a long time? It gets my vote!

That was the funny thing of last winter:
Despite the record snow, the "cold", as measured by "Degree Heating Days" showed it was a warmer than average winter. That was until late Feb when temps finally trended below the norm enough to make 2007-08 an average winter, temp-wise.
Note: this is based on Madison data as recorded in the State Journal.

It's still snowing here, we have four or five inches on the ground.
School is still scheduled for today, everything around us seems to be closed, Wild Rose, Wautoma.....

I just went outside and shovel a path for my granddaughter, we have probably closer to eight inches on the ground than four or five. And still coming down strong.

We must have at least a foot now. It's some deep stuff. It's coming down hard!
