Safest Metro Areas In Wisconsin/US
City Crime Rankings by Population Group
Seven areas in the top twelve! Anyone here live in any of the areas listed that can personally vouch for the results? Wisconsonians should be proud.
I wish I could say the same for Ga and Ala.

I live outside of Wausau. There are some rough areas but overall things are good. I am not afraid to walk anywhere in Wausau after dark.
I grew up in Chicago so maybe that makes me a little more tough.

Eau Claire is ok have some bad like anywhere else but any area no matter what size will have that..
Myrtle Beach S.C I lived there and drove Taxi never had problems. Alot of crack around and homeless but never feared it there either. Now Florence S.C. was there once at night not my kind of town to be in at night.

I can imagine that the areas you consider rough are equal to some of the spots in the South we consider good. Keep the comments coming folks!

Coming from San Diego, it takes a lot for me to consider an area "rough".
The only place I've been to so far in Wisconsin that I felt had some rough areas, was Milwaukee. My husband won't let me drive there by myself (I like to go to Trader Joe's in Milwaukee).

Trader Joes in Milwaukee is in a good neighborhood. We come in off of 41 and you can drive through some rougher areas but nothing that would make me afraid.

Oh, I agree. The area surrounding Trader Joe's is nice. But I got lost going there the first time (I went by myself), and I ended up in a pretty scary neighborhood.

I travel with a GPS. I think I went down Silver Spring which some of the neighborhoods aren't the best. Then when I was leaving I went up 43 and crossed back. So that worked out OK.
I don't know where you live but there is also a Trader Joe's in Madison.

I've lived in Fond du Lac, Oshkosh, and Appleton. It's pretty spot on; not too many perps 'round these parts. Though FDL had some skinhead gang problems when I was in high school; that was 10-15 years ago.
