I feel bad when I say...I'm a Milwaukee guy that means the 7 County Milwaukee area, I could care less if MN annexed the rest of the state. I don't feel apart of the state at all. Whether my fault or not I just don't care for the rest of the state. I do think we have one of the more beautiful states in the union, I guess the years of being battered by the rest of the state for being "from Milwaukee" has changed my attitude.

I went to Mountain,WI for a week and went 4 wheelin' on the pipe line. One thing I didn't account for was the hate I had experienced from the townie bars up there. I often got the question " are you from Chicago" at least 8 times. I wasn't being cocky when I was up "der" but I experienced a whole new WI when I went north of Washington County.

Wonder if it was the clothing. When I go from Phoenix back to the country in WI I usually throw on some less up to date clothing when I go to the small town bars.

Surely you're aware that the way you dress is a form of communication. If you walk into a rural Northwoods tavern with clothing that shouts "I'm a dandy," then you should expect some ill will, just as someone walking into a River North martini bar looking like they just crawled down from a deer stand will probably not be warmly received.
