What is going on with the attempts to ban smoking in public areas etc in Wausau and other neighboring cities?

Default Smoking

Madison and Appleton hve banned smoking in ALL public facilities. (Stores, resturaunts, bars--everything). The state government is looking at a statewide ban. It's just a matter of time!!

This is a nationwide effort. Never could understand why there is so much energy put in to this, but no attempt to make the sale of cigarettes illegal.
I just quit after 40 years of smoking and it is about the money, not health issues. It was easy to quit because i do not run into smokers anywhere now. I am curious how the states will deal with the lost tax revenue when smokers do quit. My guess is hitting the fat next. Alcohol needs to be addressed but it won't be.

I couldn't believe how easy it was, no cravings, no nothing, like I never did it.
Money is a powerful force. Thanks

They don't think that we smokers are dying fast enough so they're trying to irritate us to death. Seriously, you do get use to it and you meet a lot of really nice folks when you gather with your fellow smokers huddled out in the freezing cold puffing on their cigarettes.

Nyminute,

You must be one of 5% or so of smokers who was never physically addicted. I have seen my husband try to quit and it is not pretty. Mood swings and irritability like there's no tomorrow. Psychological addiction is definitely easier to break. Congratulations!!

I live in FL and its a state wide band. Your turn is coming. Try chewing tobacco and spit on the floor

Hi all

The family & i are moving back to the USA & its good to see there pushing the non smoking statewide.

It's happen to most of Australia in the past few years , the diff here was they started with food outlet like resturaunts having a smoking n non smoking then total ban in resturaunts same as to pubs , clubs & bars.

Now its also you cant smoke in public areas like schools you must be like 20 feet away if your smoking , that also goes for parks ,building & 99.9% of whatever you think of is public thats just fine by me.

Not having a go here at the smokers as im a ex smoker now for 10 months i went cold turkey so did the wife at the same time & we have never looked back since.

So for all you smokers that think you cant give up you can cuz i smoked for over 30 years starting at the age of about 11 & in my late teens i was smoking approx 2 packs a day tll i gave up.

Its mind over matter if you want to give up you can.

last price i paid for a pack of 20 here was $8.85 AUD now there over $9.00.

BTW i will be living in either WI or MI up by the Tiwn Cities area of Menominee River so its great to see the ban in coming in.

It is a case of MIND over Matter. After smokimg for 20+ years, on September 5th, 2000 I quit. Just like that. Was leaving for a vacation on that date--so kinda planned ahead. Have not smoked since that day. First few days are a b***h, after that not too bad.
