We live in Missouri and my husband just got a job in Milwaukee. We know that we dont want to live in Milwaukee we have 1 child (not old enough for school). I have read different things about different cities. Can anyone let us know where is a good area to live in that isnt to far away for milwaukee? we have heard about high taxes, does any one know where are the lowest taxes.
i have looked at menomonee falls, muskego, waukesha, mequon any of these cities good to raise a family? any help would be great

How far is your husband willing to commute? What is important to you in your new home (yard, neighbors, etc). What is your budget?

He is willing to drive about 30 minutes!! Since we are going to be new to the area, we dont want to buy a house until we get to know the area, schools etc..Our child is very young so we have enough time to find a good school. Right now we are trying to look at apartments 2 to 3 bedrooms...we
want to try stay around 900 or so. looking on-line is hard when you have no clue of what the area is like. We dont know what our budget is going to be, i will be losing my job in the move and will have to find a new once i get up there. taxes are so much higher up there, then we were live. its going to be a adjustment!!! any info would be great.

Just a thought, I believe you can still file for unemployment if you move due to a spouse taking a job in a different area. Check with your local employment office and see what the rules are where you are at.
