Default Okay..is there anyone out there from Manitowoc?

I've visited family in Manitowoc and fell in love with it! I am now able to move there and hope to do so in the near future. Housing prices seem really great...what areas would anyone suggest?

Hi. I am 27 and was born, raised, and still live here in Manitowoc. There are many very nice new residential neighborhoods in Manitowoc that are going up on the west side of town. It seems like that side of town is expanding by the day. There are also many cool older victorian style houses on the north east side of town with great views of Lake Michigan. You are right about the housing prices, you get a lot of bang for your buck here. The people in Manitowoc are very friendly, and if you get the urge to visit a larger city with more to do, Green bay is only 35 miles north, and Milwaukee is only 80 miles south. If you've already moved here (because I see your post is from March) welcome, if not, good luck house hunting!

Default Moving to Manitowoc?

My family is thinking of moving to this area from Marquette, Michigan. What is the job market like? What about housing/prices? Economy?

Thanks in advance for you response.

Thanks Krista...no we haven't gotten there yet, unfortunately...it had to go on the back burner for awhile ...but it's still in our plans. We're still here in Southern California for now, but, looking forward to the day we can move back there. I've read a lot of posts about the weather there, and I think it's just what you make it...nothing is perfect I know. But I've visited in both summer and winter and either way, it was always beautiful, and the people were very nice. What amazed me was the pride people had in their homes, schools, and town...everything is so clean! How people came out for things...I enjoyed the Thanksgiving parade one year, and the 4th of July celebration another...there is nothing like a Brat off the BBQ!! Feel free to share more of your wonderful town...I'd appreciate it!! Thanks again!
