new life new state
I am wanting to relocate to WI and am single. I like country with a little of city. I am a big outside person. What towns or cities would be the best to look into? I am not big on a lot of night life either. just a little bit. Thanks for any help!

Sounds like the outskirts of either LaCrosse or the Appleton area would meet your needs. Both provide just enough "city" to serve basic and intermediate amenities but are basically free of "big city" congestion, crime, drama, and pretenses. And both offer excellent outdoor recreational opportunities nearby for biking, hiking, hunting, boating, fishing, even some downhill skiing (though you won't mistake yourself for being on the slopes of Colorado).

I think Marinette, WI /Menominee, MI would be great. That have excellent fishing there (walleye) and plenty of public hunting land. Marinette does have a nice downtown, if you want some community action. This community is very safe. I would stay away from Green Bay. It is a nice location, but not so country.

I think you would be happy in any of the larger towns in the center of the state, from MN border to Lake Michigan, towns such as Stevens Point, Appleton, Wausau, Wisconsin Rapids, Portage, etc. They are large enough where you can find anything you need as far as shopping goes but there are a lot of fishing, hunting, skiing, hiking and other outside recreational opportunities.

Come for some visits and check out the towns mentioned, great suggestions! My only advice is do your research and if possible, stay more than a day or two to get a feel for the areas.
I haven't lived here that long so I won't say yay or nay on any towns plus alot is personal perception. I came from northeast Illinois not a major move for me plus I was familiar with Wisconsin.

Lake Country is wonderful. Beautiful, a lot of outdoor recreational opps, close to the big city, but not too close, and a lot of pretty little towns.
