So having liberal values means you're "drinkin the Obama koolaid"? Please... this isn't a fad or a fashion statement.

I'm negative because the country is in the sh*tter and doofuses like you are still proudly waving the banner of conservatism.
The last president got us involved in two wars, both on the verge of failure; an imploding housing market; international disgrace; the highest unemployment since the Great Depression; and the collapsing of the U.S. auto industry. What else has to go wrong for you to realize that your way of thinking may be flawed?

Ok, Ok, easy you guys, doofuses might not qualify as being polite!
I just think everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax (meaning government, banks, wall street, etc.)! We did not get in this mess in a year or even two so expecting a quick fix just isn't going to happen.
Its like everyone thinks things will change tomorrow. I don't care who is in charge, getting back out of where we are is not a one day not fine and then ok the next day everything is wonderful. This has been coming on for a long time and I think big business (especially automotive) just didn't get it.

How can the U.S. automakers compete with Germany, Japan, South Korea, and Canada when they have to pay for healthcare for their employees. It kinda puts them at a disadvantage doesn't it?

Most economists seemed positive regarding Obama's housing stimulus plan. The prior administration did not even touch that issue with as much persistence and rigor as the current administration. Also, the first financial bailout was under the watch of Bush and it was orchestrated extraordinarily poorly. This was the bailout where the CEO's pocketed the cash and laid off employees as their own company stock price tanked.
Here is the article related to this issue:

Wow, Take a chill pill. Seriously, there's more to life then a poor economy. I just answered a question that berries asked and now I'm being grilled? If you want to argue then take your attitude to the debate forums.
Good grief!

Don't include Germany in that list. Germany pays big time for their employees, current, retirees, myself included. Because of holidays, vacation, health, dental, glasses the cost per employee is thousands. Life insurance is free, I do not pay for it, they may look at that expense and discontinue it but right now I'm insured even if I live to 100. I pay VW a small amount for my health insurance, they pick up the rest, I send a check direct to them for the car program. I worked 33 years for VW, I know automotive, don't say Germany doesn't have employee/retiree costs, trust me they do.
My opinion on this whole matter will be totally blasted and probably should be over at the great debate so I'll keep it to myself.
