One good thing about Green Bay is that it is far enough away from Kaukauna that you won't have to deal with the STENCH that Kaukauna is known for.

Haha. I live in Wrightstown, we just moved there from Green Bay last summer. I was very surprised to not have the Kaukauna smell at all!! The one thing that really sucks about living in the country though is the farm smell. My husband is from Pulaski, and says I'll get used to it, but I don't know how that will happen. Most of the time there's no smell, but if the wind blows just right......yuck!
Wrighstown is a nice little town, very nice people, but you're allowed to keep to yourself if you want to. Where we live is a lot of busy, young families, which is what we are, so we fit in perfect. The area is growing very quickly, and with the real estate on the 2 golf courses, and along the river, there is a lot of money in the town. It is quite a change from the city conveniences though!

I love this park in Green Bay! I have never lived there, but a company I worked for was based there. My kids loved visiting! Even though it is "Packer related" Spring training in Green Bay is really unique and can be a lot of fun. I think it has grown since I was there, however, I have a son that is about to turn 19 and he remembers the park & spring training as some of his favorite short get away trips. He has been a lot of places and the last time he was in Green Bay was 1997!

I would suggest living outside of Green Bay. DePere, Allouez, and the others that have already been suggested would all be good choices. They are much quieter and certainly safer than GB itself.

"Green Bay only has 1 mall"...THAT'S how you judge a city? Holy cripes. I won't even start into how wrong & backwards this is...
P.S. there are PLENTY of restaurants here, you won't get bored. Just look ouside the mall. If you only visited the restaurants in the food court of the mall, then you might get bored.

Bloomington MN only has one mall too, maybe you have heard of it, Mall of America? I have tired of the food choices there too. Green Bay is a lovely area of the country.

Green Bay is OK BUT bear in mind that the Fox River +NE WI lakeshore area is the most "stable" area in the entire USA-meaning that people that live here(aside from the illegals)were born and lived all their lives. They are not unfriendly but still Have ALL their extended family and friends from grade school just down the block.
They have no room for new friends whatsoever unless you have some special traits say like, being young, beautiful, female and rich. For a "people person" the area is an absolute disaster!

^^I have to reply again, as I did in the other thread.
I don't know what neighborhood you live in, but I've lived in 4 neighborhoods all around the city--West side, Allouez, downtown and now the East side. My neighborhoods, particularly the one I live in now, is not at all as you describe. Most of my neighbors are originally from other cities--Chicago, L.A., Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, Eau Claire & other WIsconsin towns..and yes some have always lived here in Green Bay. I'm pretty social with most of these people and I always ask where they're from. They are mostly nice people, too.
I know there are certain areas of the city where you have many generations all living near each other, places where people who grew up there and have always lived there. Guess what? These sorts of traditional neighborhoods exist in pretty much every city, big & small. I think that's cool. Great for them. Maybe not so great for you? Could you find another neighborhood if you dislike it so much?
Green Bay is actually a pretty diverse place, if you look around you'll find just about everything, maybe not all on large scales like you'd find in big cities, but enough..I've grown to love this town.
I don't really like it when people paint the entire city as all being "one way". You're not wrong, Packrat, I belive you...but I have to provide another perspective, from my point of view.

What's good about Green Bay?
The greatest sports franchise in America is there.
