You must live in an affulent nieghborhood to have people from that many places around. Most of GB is just like I said,ALL of blue collar GB is.
I'm just saying, don't paint GB with such a broad brush. It's a lot more diverse (in a good way) than what you let on. It's got it's small-town elements but also has aspects of big city. Perfect for me and my kids.

Default diverse but divided

Yes GB is becoming more diverse, but its not easy being a minority in this town. I see many people acting "uncomfortable" when they are around minorities. I have experienced these situations through my latino husband. Racism and ignorance still exists in GB. The job market is good as long as you know someone who is a prominent lifetime local or you don't mind making $8 an hour. The "Good Ole Boy" network is alive and well here. I live in De Pere and would have to say its probably the "nicest" area around; quaint downtown, nice homes and lawns, decent parks, and great schools. But it still isn't for me. Fortunately my husbands job enables him to move elsewhere in the country, so we are looking forward to doing that once the local housing market turns around (hopefully Summer '08). Anyone looking for a 2 year old 1600 square foot home? If I could describe the area in one word it would be insular. But who knows, many people love it here and wouldn't live anywhere else. Good on ya, but I'm gone asap.

I think GB is a GREAT city! I love to visit (I grew up 30 miles south of GB) and my cousin lives in Bellevue (just outside of GB). They have a fun hockey team to watch in winter, Onedia casino, and I think the food up there is great. You have to have deep fried cheese curds! The traffic is is not bad unless there is a Packer game. The one mall that they do have is nice. They also have some great bars to go to once in a while. I think GB is a nice city...and they DO have a great football team!

The best thing about Green Bay is De Pere and Appleton.
