Hotels near Redgranite
Going to a wedding in Regranite and need a hotel.
We are going this summer to wedding in redgranite and I am looking for a hotel to stay in. I like to stay in nicer hotels and the only place on the wedding sheet is the Americinn in Wautoma. I looked it up online and it is not really what I am looking for. Can anyone else recommend a place? I don't mind driving a bit.

There is NO question in my mind, having been an extensive traveler in my day (particularly of the State of Wisconsin) the ONLY and #1 place you want to consider (with your desires stated) is the Hilton Garden Inn in Oshkosh. The newest, cleanest and nicest overall accommodations anywhere within a hour of where you are going. They have a excellent breakfast restaurant there for when you get up in the morning (none of those starchy useless continental breakfasts others offer with watered down coffee and juice and frozen sweet rolls. This is the real deal. Nice large clean plush beds and quiet clean rooms....sound nice? well it is. Trust me I've been in more hotels than I care to count over the last decade, Hilton did a real good thing with this series of locations they opened with this concept. It is only a Half Hour drive to Redgranite so well worth it for your added comfort during this trip.
The Hilton Garden Inn
1355 W. 20th Ave. Oshkosh, WI.
(920)966-1300
Hwy 41 North, Exit at State Rd./W. S. Park Ave go North, then Right
at W. 20th Ave. about 2 blks.

I highly recommend this hotel, too. I've stayed there and it is one of the better places I've ever had the pleasure of staying.
One thing to note, though. If the wedding is going on around the time of EAA AirVenture (in Oshkosh)...you'd be wise to book a hotel room ASAP. It's taking place July 27-August 2 this year.

Stay away from hotels like the Americinn. I agree with the above people. The Hilton of Oshkosh is the best because it is owned by a great local company out of Green Bay....community minded, good employer, fair, honest. Five Stars
The other hotels around here the owners aren't so great, in my humble opinion. There is one owned by Mitt Romney's company, Bain Capital! Why would you want to promote that hedge fund who also owns the largest health care company in the world and who (Mitt, as governor of MA) decided that EVERYONE in the whole state of Massachsetts should give Bain tons and tons of money soon to be 20% of GNP! The other ones in the area....they, too, are an interesting sort as far as taking honesty and fairness AND lawfulness into account. I should know. I worked for three months for one of them and saw enough to make me sick. I quit because a person couldn't PAY me all the money in the world to sell my talents to that kind. I'd rather starve first.
Yes, go only to the Hilton. As far as I am concerned THIS is the only hotel in the area worth supporting with dollars.
