Default Hiking the Ice Age Trail

We are coming up to stay in Cambridge and are going to hike the Ice Age Trail - Can anyone recommend a section that is scenic and out of the way. We plan to do 7-8 miles. Thanks for the input.

The website has photos and hikers favorite spots. Wisc. Public TV also has some videos listed on the Ice Age Trail website that are interesting. I've been to several sections in Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties but not for serious hiking, just a mile or two.

Hopefully some others that have done some serious hiking will answer your post!

You could check out the Ice Age trail near Devils Lake, it's beautiful up there. I live across from the Ice Age trail on the other side of the farm field. I don't see to many people on our segment though. Portage has some nice real secluded areas if you were to drive up here.

If you truly "Love Mountains", then Devils Lake is a must. It is surrounded by a chain of low mountains (by Midwestern standards; hills in Colorado or Washington state), the Baraboo Range, that is as good as it gets here.
