Default What happened to the Hodag?
Does the hodag stiil exist up north? I remember it from childhood vacations to Rhinelander and saw it for the first time when we were visiting my brother up in the U.P. near Houghton AFB. We were drinking lots of tequilla to discourage the swarm of black flies present. I briefly saw the hodag croched low and watching us from the edge of the woods and he was wearing my brother's glasses! It startled me and then I drank more tequilla and it went away.

Alive and well! The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to the Northwoods of Wisconsin! now that Spring is officially here, ads will start to appear on TV to visit Rhinelander and Hodag Country!

Probably not the same one you saw if you were drinking straight tequilla!

Lol. We get up to Rhinelander enough and I have to say Rhinelander seems to be Hodag this Hodag that. They certainly are proud of the Hodag, I wish Portage had something like that. I didn't know tequila and Hodags went together.lol

My son bought a stuffed hodag when we were in Rhinelander last summer. We all had a great time telling hodag stories around the fire.
