What in God's name does Brown County need a 12-lane highway for?

Well an NFL football experience is one thing. But probably more so that GB has some damn good sports facilities here. We will eventually be the only WI city to get the famous Ray Kroc center. It will be an almost $40 Million facility. The Salvation Army - Green Bay, Wisconsin . Also, Green Bay is the only other city besides MKE that has an INTL airport. Although it is funny to think this airport is INTL, when it probably only has 1 flight to Canada eh.
Also, the Green Bay media market is larger then Madison. Offering more tv stations and radio stations.
I know Milwaukee has pretty much everything to offer, but Madison doesn't. Yes Madison offers a lot more then GB. I was just saying we do have things up here that some cities do not and visa versa. I know you can't compare MKE and Madison to Green Bay. It is so much smaller here. What really sucks here is GB, Appleton, and Oshkosh are so spread out and not close enough to eachother to become 1 bigger metro of 700,000 (larger then Madison). Almost everything is in 2's. There are 2 airports severing GB/APL. There are also 2 performing art centers. All of this in a way give competition, but it would be better to have 1. The metros just have to be 30 miles a part.

This is b/c there isn't anything but big foot up there, it's also the same reason why small little Lacrosse has a TV station.
The only reason GB even has an airport is b/c of the Packers.

So you can house all those minor league teams!
Not raggin' on GB, I would rather live in GB than Madison and Appletown.

That is what I said too, up to 12 lanes, crazy. Hwy 41 will eventually be an Interstate and there is a need for maybe 8 lanes with 135,000 cars a day in the future. Just north of Lombardi Ave to Hwy 29 there will be CD's where there are 3 inner lanes of high speed traffic on each side and outer 3 lanes are more exit lanes. Check it out on the right side of this map.

Resch center, old Brown County arena, and now the new Kress Center are mainly for UWGB games, arena football, minor league hockey, concerts, and other venues. Room for 23,000 with all of those arenas combined for seating, not too bad for a city of this size. Yes the Packers have alot to do with the airport and also the $500+ Million tourism each year here.
Tourism in Brown County
1994 $236 M
2006 $518 M

A Collector/Distributor (C/D) roadway along US 41 between Mason Street and Memorial Drive. The C/D roadway is a parallel roadway that provides access between closely spaced interchanges.
There will be 6 lanes on each side of the hwy, and I am not talking about frontage roads. I see these in Chicago and Los Angeles. In bigger cities usually.

OK, I checked out the plans. This has to be one of the most overblown, over-engineered, overwrought wastes of taxpayer money in the history of WisDOT. What the hell is with having like 8 roundabouts in a 1/2-mile stretch of road? If you're going to chew up as much land as these interchanges, what's wrong with good old-fashioned clover-leafs? What the hell do you need 12 lanes for? What do you need 3 exit lanes for? It's like they're planning on Green Bay growing to like 2 million people in the near future.
