I'm not disputing that GB to SB can be a rough trip during the winter. (Personally, I think the foggy weather is the scariest!) But I'm happy to report that 57 is now a four-lane highway all the way from GB to SB. It opened last fall and is a much safer way to travel. It bypasses Brussels now; the entire middle third of the trip is all new highway a bit south and east of Brussels.

The four lane 57 makes a huge difference. I wish they would have had that back when I traveled that route! I agree that the fog is the worst driving hazard. There ids really no way to drive safely when you're driving into areas where you can'rt see.

All that's gonna do is change the nature, rather than frequency, of the accidents.

Fog can be bad, but glare ice (a few feet of elevation can make all the difference) is the worst, in my opinion.

After the excessive speed, of course.
