327 Hudson St. area is mostly populated by college students and elderly. That is about 6 blocks away from the University. It is definetely safe. Eau Claire is usually in the top 10 of safest cities to live in the U.S. Not to mention the cop to resident ratio is higher than any city in the U.S. I really don't think you have a lot to worry about when it comes to safety in Clearwater(Eau Claire). Most of the rif raf happens on Water St., Main St., Birch St., Kappus Dr., Imperial Circle, Runway, just north of Madison Street and Whiskey Dicks(a bar). The closest of those to Hudson St. is Water St. Water street's rif raf is mostly due to a large concentration of bars for two blocks. Mostly just college kids go to those bars. Actually, Hudson street is closer to the cop station than it is to water st. I've been living in Eau Claire for 10 years and that area is probably one of my favorite areas.
