Default Where to rent in Eau Claire?

We finally have a date. First week of June we will be in Eau Claire. Problem is, we don't have a place to stay yet. We will buy a home but want to investigate when we get there. We'd like to rent for a few months probably then buy. What can we expect price wise? Need a 2/3 bedroom home or townhome with garage. Oh, and does Eau Claire have a Target? I sure hope so! Thanks in advance.

I lived in Eau Claire many, many years ago and it was a lovely town then, very clean. Hopefully that has not changed. We lived in the Putnum Heights area, late 70's, and at the time it was a very nice area. I don't know if it still is but it would be worth looking into. I would contact a real estate agent and see if anyone has a house for sale they would be willing to rent out for a short term. Most rentals require a year lease and it might be difficult to find something short term where as someone trying to sell a house that may have already bought a new one might welcome the income to cover their house payment for a few months.

I lived in a townhouse for rent right behind Target in Eau Claire. We recently moved and out rent was like 755 with a 2 car garage.

Smile renting in Menominee...

Hey Diggss,

Thanks for the post

How close is EC to Menom? Was your rental 2 beds..house, condo? I'm interviewing for a position at UW-Stout...the salary range is low 30's and want to do some investigating before i make the leap...and not be able to afford it. I come with about $1000 a month bills to begin with. so can a person find an affordable place to live (about $500/mo) in a **decent** area...I'm not all into huge housing...want to not have a roommate...

Thoughts anyone...?

Thanks,
mgrayce14
