What Bothers You About Wisconsin?
We all love Wisconsin's natural beauty and all our unique cities but I'm curious too what are your pet peeves about WI or things that bother you or just annoy you about our state. I would say there are FAR more good things in Wisconsin than negative things I have a hard time thinking of things that bother me about this state.
Here is some of mine:
1. All the speed traps, I feel we could save a lot of money if we didn't have 8,000 sheriffs sitting on the side of the freeways clocking speeders. This isn't Florida or Cali where everyone drives fast. For the most part people in WI drive nice and slow.
2. I wish we had nicer beaches with smoother sand and cleaner water in Lake Michigan
3. Low speed limits, more often than not the 30mph speed limit could be bumped up to 45 or 50 safely.
4. The stupid northern WI accent and our stigma as farmers and hicks.
5. Two lane freeways, I think all freeways in this state should be at least 3 lanes.
6. The state's perception of Milwaukee as a dump, the people who say this most of them have never even been to Chicago, Detroit, any southern city. So they have no frame of reference they are out of their element!
That's all I have, that's all I could think of. Overall this is a great state.

- January and February are cold. I wish it could be warmer but still have deep snow to mess around in.
- Rust from road salt.
- Too many bugs in the summer.

Yeah I forgot about winter and if I lived out in the country I would say bugs and country roads.

Interesting thread.
My pet peeves
Road Salt
LOW interstate speed limits it should be @ least 70 or 75
The winter cold, the snow gets old but the cold gets even more old.
The wind, every day! I swear when it's a decent temperature the wind comes in and ruins everything.
Humidity, it's not to bad compared to Mississippi, its still bad though.
I-94 should be three lanes from Milwaukee to Madison.
This may sound stupid to some but I'd love some mountains here.
This state doesn't seem to be very transient, I don't know if that's spelled right or even the right word to use but their is a lack of people here who aren't from this region.

I hear a lot about humidity. Wonder if it's mostly from people living by the lakes. It's never seemed bad where I'm from in central Wisconsin.

I second the Doyle comment. I also can't stand I94 between Milwaukee & Madison.

Well where I'm at in Wisconsin seems like a valley. The Wisconsin River comes right through town. I think moisture/humidity comes up the river valley and affects cities along the river. This theory makes sense since Wisconsin Dells holds the state record for record high. The dells is only about 10-13 miles upstream. I don't know if humidity and the heat go and hand in hand but it makes some sense.
