I believe city life does cause irritability. I am currently living in Phoenix and living here makes me a more rude grumpy person in general. It's caused mainly by too many people and too much traffic everywhere.
It is so nice when I'm back home in the country in Wisconisn. It takes about 2 days to adjust and slow down every time I go there. People wave when they drive by, the stores aren't crowded, the people in the store say hi, and there is no traffic. I think my blood pressure goes down about 20%. It always sucks when it's time to leave.
I love dairy. I had yogurt for breakfast this morning. I also had cream cheese with a bagel. One of Wisconsin's major contributions to this nation makes me very happy.

Something unique to Wisconsin is Beer-Cheese soup. It tastes better than it looks.

Actually, beer combined with cheese is something you will find in the Czech Republic too. How do you make beer-cheese soup(other than the main ingredients beer and cheese)?

Sauté some garlic and onions in some butter. Add some flour to make a roux. Add some beer, bring up to a simmer so the roux can thicken the beer. Melt some cheese into the mixture and you've got yourself some beer-cheese soup.

Thank you. I can't get Leon's Frozen custard or O and H kringle in Georgia, but I can make beer-chesse soup. A bit of Wisconsin in my own life.

Just wanted to know if anyone else thinks thin crust pizza is now a Milwaukee style pizza with all the best pizza joints being thin crust places and let's not forget Papa Palermo's

I'd refer to super-thin cracker crust pizza as Wisconsin-style rather than Milwaukee-style, since you can find the same type of pizza all across the state. For those that don't know, it's not at all like NY style thin crust pizza. You can't fold it over because it's so crispy it would snap.

Pizza Man, Zaffiro's, and Mama DeMarini's are my favorites in Milwaukee, but Frank's Pizza Palace up in Appleton has my all-time favorite pizza.

Default on Wisconsin!

Leinenkugel's Beer...one of the best breweries to visit - in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Big store, free tastes, great tour of an old facility...and Creamy Dark is my Favorite Beer! Their Summer Shandy is good when it's hot...which we have yet to experience this summer!

Speaking of Breweries....for those who were around Milwaukee in the 70's, and who enjoyed beer......you could go downtown and visit Schlitz, Miller, and Pabst...one after the other, and go to their tasting rooms for unlimited tastes!
ahhh...good times!

Culver's - their Butterburgers are the best. They started in Sauk Prairie and have over 370 restaurants in 17 states.
We were in Ireland, and the food was good...but we were 'craving' a real Butter Burger by the end of the two weeks! We talked about it all the way back, and stopped at the first Culver's we found when we arrived back here! Wow...it was the best!

Fish Fry's....I would miss them terribly.....they are 'tradition' for us!

Green Bay Packers! (I don't think I saw this yet in this post!)

Brats...I used to ship these to my friends who moved to AZ because they couldn't get them there!

Suburpia Subs....these were the first subs I ever had. Luckily, their family has started these up again...one in Waukesha for sure. These subs have the best buns, and you have to leave them in the bag to catch the oil drippings...sounds bad, but it is part of the fun, and they are excellent!

Smelt Fry's...on Lake Michigan (not my favorite, but my husband loves Smelt!)

Maybe not just Wisconsin things.....
but I remember going to taverns when I was a kid with my parents, so it boggled my mind when we couldn't take our kids into a restaurant/bar in Indiana! State Laws on this differ greatly, which I never realized!

Also, speaking of taverns..I remember Pickled eggs, Pickled Pig's Feet, Pickled Gizzards...all lined up in gallon jars on the back of the bar! Yuck!
Or how about those beer/tomato juice concoctions? Poor Man's Bloody Mary!

This was a fun post to read by the way....thanks for starting it, and to all the contributors!

Oh,....has anyone mentioned the music festival SUMMERFEST?
