Default Tornadoes

Of all the things one can worry about in life, tornadoes are a miniscule issue. Sure they hit Wisconsin occasionally but really you have as much chance as getting hit by lightning.

Wisconsin is nothing like Missouri or Oklahoma, where they touch down more frequently and with a lot more ferocity. I never give a moments worry to tornadoes.

Magpies.

Yes, there are occasional tornadoes that will occur, usually in the hot summer months. It is indeed, a rare place on earth that does not have weather or geo physical issues to deal with. I don't know of anyone that would move away from Wisconsin because of tornadoes, snow, yes.

Never saw a tornado in the northwoods! When I lived in Indiana so many tornado warnings had nightmares all the time. Don't even worry about them up here. Ladysmith got hit by a tornado but that's farther west.

For me, I get all excited when the tornado sirens go off. But me, I love storms.

The worst toranado to hit Wisconsin happened on June 8, 1984 in Barneveld. The tornado was later classified as an F5 with winds in excess of 261 MPH. There were 9 deaths, 197 casualties. The tornado hit without warning between 12:41am - 1:40am. causing an estimated $25,000,000 in damage and leveling most of the town.
