Cool Looking for a summer home near Hayward

I grew up on Lake Kegonsa near Stoughton and spent my summers on Big Round Lake in Hayward. I have lived in California for 17 years and miss the sound of a loon in the evening or the last motor boat heading in off the lake. My boyfriend and I have the opportunity to buy a summer home in Northern Wisconsin. I would love to spend summers again in or near Hayward. Is it the same place it was 20 years ago? Still small town charm and northwoods rustic? Anyone have any words of wisdom for a cheesehead coming home for her summers?

It's still the same old (relaxed and charming) Hayward. I live near Wisconsin Dells... but we head up near Hayward several times a summer to a friends cottage. There's nothing more relaxing than northern Wisconsin. Come back home... I can hear the loons calling your name

Default Growing up in Hayward

Hayward is a great place to live. It doesn't matter what time of the year it is, there is always something to do. Winter sports to Summer sports. Its a world class place from the American Birkiebeiner Ski Race, Lumberjack World Championships, the largest off-road bike race, world class fishing, and much more.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, come and enjoy.
