Default home schooling in WI...

I am thinking of changing to home schooling; my son is in 9th grade. Can anyone provide me with their experiences related to home schooling? Is it something to consider or does it wind up being a hassle? How does one get started; how do you monitor your kids progress, etc...thanks

I don't live in WI anymore; but when I did, there was a very active home schooling association...Wolf River Home School Assoc. or something like that. You might google that and see what you can find. Good Luck

Have you thought about virtual school? You can do open enrollment in Feb. and put down both the virtual school out of Mcfarland and the one out of Appleton. If my husband wasn't opposed to the idea I would of gone that way with my 7 yr old. She was accepted by both. I sent her to a local Lutheran school instead. But I still might do it in the future.

Default To homeschool or not to homeschool?

Homeschooling a 9th grader after taking him out of school is a completely different situation than homeschooling a child beginning from age 4 or 5. The most important question is, does your son want to be homeschooled? If so, you have a great chance of success; if not, you might want to reconsider.

Good luck whatever you and your son decide!
