America's Dairyland?
America's Dairyland seems so boring and outdated to me. "Live Like You Mean It" is a slogan disaster.
When it comes to slogans, Wisconsin just can't seem to get it right.

Happy Cows Come from California, beside isn't Cali the new Dairy state anyways. I can't stand the fact that we are referred to as the dairy state, if you ask me I think it hurts our reputation as a state. We become a laughing stock of the country with no thanks to our license plates, our state quarter, and "America's dairyland" tag. Health care and Manufacturing are our two biggest industries by far and Califonrina produces more dairy than Wisconsin so it would be nice if we could drop the farmer image. Why not become the a state known for health care or research? we are third in milk production and second in cheese so I don't know why we continue to lie to the US and we keep telling them we are the dairy state. Our biggest industries are health care, manufacturing and tourism.
This doesn't help our image also!!!

I agree with all you said. Our license plates are nothing to be proud of. When I travel to different states, I feel like covering mine. They present an image of a hayseed.

LOL..that's why I have a license plate bracket that only shows just the numbers. It's my Milwaukee Bucks license plate bracket. I was actually pulled over in FDL for having the bracket covering up too much of the plate. I always tell people I'm from Milwaukee not Wisconsin. Milwaukee is way different than the rest of the state just like CHI and IL.

I'm not sure I agree with the license plate thing. I think is is a pretty good plate that indicates a # of items WI is known for.
Ever see indiana plate? Slogan " www.in.gov" wtf is that??

I only see a farm and a sailboat on our plates and last time I checked we aren't the dairy state and we aren't known for sailboats.

Why worry about your image?
Besides, there's something honest and forthright about being "America's Dairyland"; it brings forth thoughts of hard useful work and honest products. Are those things to be ashamed of today?
Ever since they started those smug and smarmy California cow commercials I check to make sure my dairy products ARE NOT made in California. I bet I'm not the only one. And while I'm at it nothing from Oregon either.

How about just the state motto "Forward", a barn, a cow, and a silo?

Cali's milk production fell by 10% last year. It's tough raising Dairy cows in a desert.
