Marshfield
One of three possible places to relocate to. Please tell me what you can about this place. Thank you.

Marshfield is a great small town. http://ci.marshfield.wi.us/misc/profile.htm It has a huge medical center, many stores and resturaunts, car dealers, and a small zoo. It's sort of a hub for all the surrounding area small town people to do their shopping and other not so small town needs. It's very clean with little crime and has a wide range of homes. When I grew up in Owen Wisconsin we rarely had to go anywhere else beyond Marshfield to get what we needed.

I think it's a great place to raise a family and if you are in the medical field you shouldn't have an issue getting a job. Marshfield definatley does not have good shopping, unless you think that Wal Mart and Target are the only things you need. However, Wausau and Eau Claire are not real far away. It is a nice comminity though. But if you are looking for lots to see and do, I wouldn't consider this place.

Depends on what you compare it to. It doesn't have a Mall-Of-America but it does have a small mall in addition to Wal-Mart, Target, Shopko, Menards, Fleet Farm, and several other specialty stores and other smaller stores on historic Central Avenue and around town. It does have 99% of what a needs but probably wouldn't satisfy a big fashion shopping nut.
Here's an aerial picture of the town. Your web browser and the Maps site are incompatible

Whyte Byrd, this thread from a few months back has quite a bit of discussion about Marshfield and the surrounding area.

I've lived all over the USA,coast to coast, Marshfield might well be the best place in this country to raise kids.
Low crime and probaly because it has the highest rate of Doctors in population in USA ,a very good public school system.
Only problem is that a town this size cannot support a high culture scene you won't be going to the Opera much.
For some a deal breaker,to others irrelevant.
