Default Elementary Schools in Beloit

Can anyone please tell me about Beloit public schools? I have done some research on the net, but I wanted the opinion of locals. My children are ages 5 and 7. My seven year old has been classified as academically gifted. Can you please recommend the best elementary schools in the area? How is the library in Beloit?

The library is new and seems nice actually. However, the schools not so much.Janesville may be a little better. Roscoe/ Rockton just south in Illinois I believe is better still.I would avoid Beloit if I could with kids that young, it is a hole. Trust me, I live here!

I am originally from Oshkosh, and I think Beloit Elementary schools are pretty decent. The best elementary school would be Morgan Elementary on the east side of town. If you are looking for another elementary school, try Hackett elementary on the West Side. It is run by Tom Johnson, who is an excellent administrator.

Actually, Gaston Elementary on the West side, Converse on the west side, Morgan on the east side, and Todd on the east side have good reputations. I am in and out of the schools volunteering and there are some really excellent teachers in most of the schools and really only a couple of schools that I would hesitate to have a child attend.
