From Scottsdale AZ to the Dells in October? Sounds backwards. Wear a jacket. Not sure what outdoor activities they have for winter. They do have some indoor parks.

If you go onto that site and click on travel guide, it will bring up other topics, one being nature. If you click on that button, it will direct you to Devil's Head and Mirror State Parks.
I don't know about you, but as someone else who loves the outdoors, whenever my family travels, we always head to the state parks first. They have all the good stuff.

Go to Devil's Lake State Park ( it's close to the Dells ); take a camera with ya. Hike one of the trails to the top of the bluffs, and then sit and enjoy the scenery. Dress in layers; as you may be cold when you first exit your car, I can guarantee you'll be plenty warm after a walk in the woods.

also, depending on who you all have with you and if you have never been in Madison it's just a short drive from the Dells ( an hour or less ) and could give you more options for things to do.

You could check out the lower dells boat tours, I'm pretty sure they still do it right now. Next week looks like nice weather wise, sunny and 50's. I'd go to Devils Lake or Rocky Arbor state parks. Plenty of hiking at both. If you have little kids Kalahari has a nice indoor theme park. There is so much to do in the Dells I don't see you having any problems as far as things to do.

Thank you all for your info!! Are the trees still the bold colors? Since where I live you don't see much of that. Does anyone know of good places to eat up there? What about anything fun to do during Halloween since I will still be up there? I will be visiting my soon to be in-laws and they wont have time during the week to take me around. I am a huge Packers fan how far of a drive would it be to Green Bay? I am sorry if I am asking a ton of questions!!

I can't name any places off the top of my head. The Dells has a ton of big chain restaurants. If you have a little money to spend I'd check out Fields at the Wilderness as far as a restaurant. Another nice place is Riverwalk Pub just a block from the downtown Dells. The colors around here are just about at there peak. I'm 13 miles from the Dells so we're about the same. I'd have to say Green Bay would be at least two hours away. You could take highway 23 out of the Dells to I-39 then 23 east through Montello, Princeton over to 41 which I believe takes you to Green Bay. I'd check out the Ducks when your in the Dells.
