As I said in my previous post agreeing with another one that came since, indeed you do get back what you put out. If you put out attitude you get it back. But I will still maintain this animosity is not manufactured. There is a sense of "rape" that the Wisconsinites feel from Illinois, and I'm not convinced they are wrong.

On the other note, it's not just about crazy drivers, but in larger metro areas there is simply more competition on the road for space and ability to maneuver at will. In that respect it doesn't surprise me at all that the level to which the Illinois (mostly Chicago area) drivers tailgate mercilessly is due to this. There is nowhere near as much driving stress placed on a driver on say Hwy 43 going north as I-94 or god forbid 94 or 90 through the City of Chicago. I've seen that level of stress only in Houston and Seattle before. Not even LA as they expect it and have adapted to driving in those conditions. In Chicago they just drive like they are pissed all the time. OH well, it isn't about to end anytime soon so just get used to it. But to deny recognition of it is folly.

Calm down. The dude was just being descriptive, not equating Illinois to a bunch of rapists. People are too freakin sensitive these days. BTW, Wisconsinites still hold most of the waterfront property in Wiscosnin.
Wanna buy mine????

Oh, so when you said they were stuck-up, rude, and "out there," you were simply being analytical? Certainly you can understand how some might read value judgments in such a pejorative analysis, can't you?

I don't drive the toll road or highways too much but I drive all the main roads in the Chicago NW suburbs: A-H Road, Golf, Algonquin, Palatine, 53, Dundee, Lake-Cook etc. Almost every day I have someone stop to let me pull into traffic or busy lane or switch lanes to turn. I have never had any problems. I find these Chicago people are courteous "generally". They seem to understand that with lots of cars on the road, it behooves everyone to assist the other guy a little bit and traffic actually moves faster because of it.

I can' say I had same experiences in 15 years of driving around Milwaukee and I can't tell you how many times I experienced idiots on Hwy 41 near Appleton feeling they owned the right lane even though people needed to merge off the entry ramps.

I am calm, are you annointed to speak for him or something?
Yes, I agree with you that some of these people are much too sensitve about people from Illinois.
And, I stand by what I wrote, It was a vile thing to say.

PS, no thanks on the property, we just sold our remaining land on the beautiful waters of Green Bay, made a fortune.

Not only did you spell anointed wrong, but you used it incorrectly. I think the word you were searching for may have been appointed?
"The fonz" was referring to you being overly sensitive to the use of the word 'rape', not others being sensitive about Illinois. Now that you are up to speed...

Now then, you had no land on Green Bay, that is clear. Your post reeks of Chicago football inferiority complex or some grudge against WI. You're probably just another sad Illinois dweeb who is lost in the shuffle and has decided it's your job to put Wisconsinites in their place. Good luck with that. You are likely to tick off the wrong person one day with that snotty attitude. You don't have to pretend to own land in order to seem important. And those visitors who do own land in upper WI should not boast as if they are owning an entire state. Far from it. I for one have plenty of Wisconsin friends who own very nice lake property. My Uncle Pat is one of them. My friend Nora is another. Ever go slalom skiing? They would never sell to anyone with a mouth like you, unless they were made an offer they couldn't refuse haha. And then what? Someone from Illinois spends 6 months trying to figure out how they are going to pay for a house on a lake and eventually decides to only spend a week there a couple times a year, and rents the the property out on weekends to help recoup the cost. Sound about right? Also do not forget how many thousands of Wisconsinites own nice property in the Chicago area. They contribute to your economy as well.
