Default What is the most republican/neo-conservative town in wisconsin

What town in WI has the most staunch limbaugh-bush-beck-coulter admiring crowd? And aside from that, has a reletively good/growing economy/population and easy access to a megachurch.

I'm just wondering, i don't really want to move there

As a conservative myself I can't find one single town that is hardcore conservative. Not one city in Wisconsin jumps off the map as right wing all the way. Brookfield is close to a mega church like Elmbrook which happens to be my church but Brookfield maybe more conservative just like every other suburb in America but it's not 90% conservative and 10% liberal. Plus let's not forget how many people are fiscally conservative but social liberal and vice versa.

My guess would be Hartland, Merton and the rest of western Waukesha County. Also all of Washington county. If you review the election maps from the last presidential election you will see that McCain/Palin received around 70% of the vote in this area. The highest in the state. I believe Washington county had the highest percent for McCain. This area is full of hard core talk radio conservatives.

Waukesha county in general as its the hub of "white flight" from Milwaukee.

Washington County, Wisconsin seems to have went the most strongly for McCain in 2008. A "defense of marriage amendment" restricting marriage to male/female passed in Washington with a 74% to 26% margin.

CNN.com - Elections 2006

Walworth County, Wisconsin is the only county in state to be won by both McCain and Goldwater. Democratic Presidential candidates have lost in Walworth since Wilson's Presidency ended if I'm reading it right. However Walworth seems to have become more mixed in recent elections so it was somewhat close in 2008.

Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections - Compare Maps
Presidential election of 1912 - Map by counties

Looking through political contribution money for cities in those counties I'd say Washington County, Wisconsin is the conservative one.

If you want outside the Milwaukee area Florence County looks to have a fairly conservative history. Political contributions in Florence, Wisconsin itself seem to skew Republican.

Note: I've never been to Wisconsin, I just find statistics fascinating. I imagine some residencies of these towns or counties can tell you how off-base I am.

The areas around the St. Paul metro, such as St. Croix, Pierce, and Polk counties are pretty conservative if I remember correctly. Being located right across the river from Michelle Bachman's district should give you a good indication of how politics swing around there.

As a fiscally conservative, socially moderate Republican, I'd have to say that Wisconsin needs more conservatives to balance out Madison. I think this is the direction the Milwaukee metro area is heading and, the sooner it gets there, the better.

Although I currently live in Minnesota, one thing I miss from my college days at Madison is that, liberal or conservative, the people of Wisconsin are much more sensible politically then us up here. Al Franken or Jessie Ventura anyone? *pukes*

Perhaps.
You gotta admit WI does not do itself pround with the likes of Kohl, Feingold or Obey though.

1. I think Kohl is dead. He reminds me of the movie "Weekend at Bernie's".
2. Obey has not had an original thought in years.
3. Feingold is just nuts. It is good to see that he just wants to pocket his $ now. He is pretty quiet these days. No longer the "rebel" he used to portray himself as.
