If you like Land's End clothing and bargains, check out New Glarus's Bargain Nook.

There's plenty of quaintness in downtown New Glarus. You could probably spend an hour there looking around at the various shops in town. New Glarus, Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, America's Little Switzerland called Swiss Town known for ethnic festivals. (http://www.swisstown.com/shopping.shtml - broken link)

I have not been to New Glarus, or even know where it is at. But up north at a grocery store, they sold New Glarus beer in the bottle. From this forum, I recognized the name and bought Spotted Cow. My husband and I both loved it. There was also Fat Squirrel available there. Anyone try that?

New Glarus is a kitsch tourist ort, mehr nicht.
The country side west of there is not spectacular but very pleasant.

Madison is one of the nicest cities of its size in the US(das sagt aber nich viel) , the state Capitol is interesting and the Uni Wisconsin is worth a look.very big and dynamic.
