Will be visiting New Glarus this fall (September). Does anyone have a recommendation for some sightseeing or is there only landscape?

I'd recommend the brewery tour. I've not been on it, but the beer's great.

I was going to suggest a trip to the brewery, too. Spotted Cow, FTW.

If you like Land's End clothing and bargains, check out New Glarus's Bargain Nook.

There's plenty of quaintness in downtown New Glarus. You could probably spend an hour there looking around at the various shops in town. http://www.swisstown.com/shopping.shtml (broken link)

There may be a day's worth of activities in the town proper. It is a small quaint place with some shops, a Swiss settler village museum, pretty good bike trail and classic WI farmland views.

If you are there for longer than a day or two, you will want to check out Madison, Monroe, drive up to House on the Rock or visit Wyalusing State Park on the mississippi river - Awesome place. In my opinion, best state park in WI.

I also recommend House on the Rock as well as Taliesan in Spring Green.
That area of Wisconsin is beautiful, I'd also look at Governor Dodge State Park in Dodgeville.

Little Norway in Mt. Horeb, Mt. Horeb itself is very nice (do people really go on vacation to go to shoe stores?).
