Ok...Why do I want to move to greenbay??? Awesome cost of living...Great crime rate...I love football...But I have a couple of questions...Will I need a car or is there any street transportation...like buses or trollies or something in that nature...And I do want to live in the middle of the city not in the outer skirts...And is there any night life at all??? And are jobs available??? Thanks for all your answers!!!

Green Bay is decidedly not a nightlife city. If you're set on living in the area and want something a bit more lively, look into Appleton.

As for public transportation.... uhm, bring a car. If you don't already have one, get one. You do not want to be at the mercy of the public transportation system up there.

Green Bay does have a bus system; however, you will want a car. It's so much faster. Overall traffic isn't horrible. You want to avoid driving on game days, because for some reason the City of Green Bay hasn't figured out how to control traffic when Packers play at home. Green Bay has so many awesome sub communities to it, many times you will find yourself driving to De Pere, Ashwaubenon and such. As far as where do you want to live, it depends on your purpose. Most people don't live right down town, unless they have little monies. The downtown is "junk" in green bay. You will find yourself probably looking in Howard, Ashwaubenon, Allouez. There is a nightlife in Green Bay. There are your sport bars and clubs. There is Club Confettis, The Bar, Anduzzis, and so much more. As far as jobs, not really. Nursing is always a good field, but other than that..good luck!! There are several award winning hospitals in Green Bay, Tundra Lodge waterpark, the NEW zoo, Lambeau Field, The Train museum (if you have kids Thomas the train comes every year), University of Wisconsin Green Bay, Resch Center, and much more. It's a fun town that you may want to visit and secure a job, before you move here. Good luck!

I agree with everything in this post, execpt for nightlife. I'm sure you can find something to do on Friday and Saturday nights, but don't expect anything special.

Green Bay or Appleton, you will need a car. The public transportation is not great in either city. There is plenty to do on Friday and Saturday nights in either city.

Downtown Green Bay is a dump, with houses that are falling down and plenty of crime. Appleton isn't much better, with plenty of crack houses near downtown. I would suggest living in one of the suburbs, or even a smaller town close by.

As for jobs, depends on what you are looking for. The economy is the same as anywhere else with people getting laid off and lots of competition for jobs.

I'm in Appleton, you will definitely need a car. There is no amount of money that would get me on the city buses. Nasty.

Given a choice between the 2 cities, if living right in town is mandatory for you, I would choose Appleton. However, living just outside is a better choice. It doesn't have to be "the burbs" but still a tad bit of distance from the dives downtown can only be a good thing.

The job situation is as everyone has stated. There are jobs but there is A LOT of competition for them. If you have a job where you are living now, you might want to rethink moving until things get better.

If you want to live in a city with good nightlife & decent bus transportation I suggest Madison. We don't have the Packers, but we do have the Badgers
