Heresay, and I LOVE BELOIT
I moved to Beloit in 1985, so I have seen its remarkable transformation. I stayed after graduating from Beloit College....moved here from the East Coast and I have never wanted to move back. The community spirit and pride here is wonderful. The naysayers can try to bring any community down, but the level of spirit and support amongst the public and private sectors of this community is wonderful. I got married & raised 3 kids here....& they all went through the schools and BMHS did a wonderful job educating them and 2 graduated from good 4-year colleges, 1 is trying to make it in theater in New York. Beloit is home to 3 world headquarters which chose to locate in Beloit (ABC, Regal Beloit, & Kerry). Beloit has great cultural opportunities, an environmental center, wonderful parks, a vibrant City Center w/ outdoor concerts by the river in the summertime....and did I mention, they're FREE? Downtown is lively and our Farmer's Market is second to none. I could go on & on. But the point being, the cost of living and the awesome opportunities for jobs, schools, fun, and making wonderful friends who are family-oriented and good humble folks are but a few of the reasons why Beloit will forever be my choice for best place to live & raise a family.
And by the way, regarding Ken Hendricks & the supposed mysterious fires... jealous folks will always try slander to bring a successful guy down. But for the record, Ken and Diane Hendricks OWN their own insurance company that insures all of their companies' assets. Isn't this proof enough that they would have nothing to gain by setting their building on fire?? I'm sure there will be some other attempt to discredit Ken & Diane.....2 wonderful folks who have put their hearts and souls into breathing new life and hope into Beloit. Speaking of soul.....God rest your soul, Ken. Beloit thanks and loves you. And we sure do miss you.

i live in beloit, i have since i was born in 92. honestly unless u have no choice stay out of here dude! gangs, drugs and violence is all most people are about up here...if u do have to move here good luck and try hard to live on the west side of town....the east is mostly the hood. beloit township is actually pretty nice for the most part---not many gang members up there, and less violence. again good luck and yeah the rent is pretty cheap around town for the most part. there are however some nice things about beloit, like riverfest n stuff is fun and we got a pretty cool skate park and a lot of local parks---just dont let ur kids play alone if u have any.

I see the state is spending multi -millions on new crappers on the interstate near Portage. What a crock of ****. WI should be charging TOLLS from the state line on. With all the whining about budgets, who's the ******* the decided to redo these rest stops, which were perfectly fine to begin with?
