Default Relocating to Sun Prairie

Hello,

We will be relocating to the Madison area due to a job change. We are looking into Sun Prairie - which is approximately 10 minutes away from the job location. We have been to Sun Prairie and we love it. We have a five old year daughter that we would need to register for school. We also need to find a good day care. Does anyone know of good day cares? Also, does anyone know about how good of a school Horizon Elementary is? Any other information regarding Sun Prairie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Heidi

We have been in Sun Prairie for 3 years and are moving due to a job change. I have really liked Sun Prairie--people are very nice and there is still a small town feel (today is the Cannery Square Block Party which is really fun).

Horizon is a new school and my friend had her daughter start there this past fall in kindergarten. Unfortunately, she was a little disappointed with the lack of direction dealing with some of the issues and felt it definately needed the kinks worked out. Playground is too small she said too. That is just her opinion though--try to get more if you can.

We LOVED CH Bird school. It is off of Bird and St. Albert. Right across from the Prairie Athletic Club. My daughter had an amazing kindergarten experience. Her teacher was excellent and the school has a really nice sense of community.

Only daycare we used was Gingerbread House off of Broadway and Hwy 19 has great teachers that have all been there forever--good to see such nice retention of teachers. They have a big place so there are different rooms for art, gym, music, and play. Kids rotate through the rooms. Have a nice big area to play and even a pool for the summer.

Good luck and feel free to ask anymore questions about SP!

Wink Why not try Marshall?

We have lived in Marshall for the past 9 years and have loved it. If you live in Sun Prairie, you better get used to construction and new taxes. They have grown so rapidly over the past few years that the schools can hardly keep up. Take a look at Marshall. Smaller, more stable schools that are rated really high. Good extra curriculars also. We have also been transferred and are in the process of moving to CO. Our home is listed. What you will find in Marshall is more home for the money & lower more stable taxes. And in Dane Co that is a big deal. If you would like more info about our home, let me know.
