Hubby submitted his resume a month ago for a promotion within his current company. Same corp different division about an hour away from our location.
His boss (the person who recommended him) told him about 2 wks ago that it was forwarded to the person doing the hiring (it is for an internal Mgr job that isn't even posted on corp website because of its level-you have to be recommended).
IS it normal to NOT hear anything for a month? The person retired from the position end of April. I am guessing at this point that they are not interested but they haven't announced a replacement yet either.
I guess it just seems kind of rude to not acknowledge the interest. If they are not wanting to interview hubby would it not be considerate to say thanks but no thanks instead of saying NOTHING for 4 wks?
OR is it normal that it takes month + to make these sort of decisions at higher/upper level mgmt? We know they just promoted another person relo'd them from another state between divisions and it is summer/holiday time. Maybe they just aren't in a hurry? It would be nice to just be told SOMETHING. He would be fine if they aren't interested -sure disappointed but if they are interested it would mean big changes for us. I feel like our life is sorta on hold waiting.
