Which party generally supports in/out sourcing, it seems like we the american people are going to take it in the shorts no mater which candidate we vote for. Clinton started nafta and obama bailed out big banks but republicans voted for free trade agreements with singapore and other nations. Are we really just doomed to become 2nd or 3rd world.

You probably should have posted this in one of the political forums.

Yes, we're doomed. No one cares one whit about the American worker. I've watched both parties screw the pooch.....us.

It would take too much change to fix the problem and no one wants to give up their piece of the pie.

What would fix our problems is to make the elected officials really feel our pain. They would have to be paid and live on the median salary for workers in the US and have the same benefits as the median worker. Including SS and healthcare. The only way for them to get a raise is to improve conditions for the average worker. When Joe America's job is outsourced or reorganized, their salaries drop!

Most of what we have governing our country would turn tail and run away as fast as possible. And here's a really radical thought, perhaps the folks who replaced them might truly BE public servants. And they might just have to do what's in America's best interest for Americans.

We live in a corporatocracy. Corporations know it's in their best interest to donate to both parties. That's why outsourcing won't be ending anytime soon.

Yes, we're doomed to be a 2nd world country, at least - similar to most of Europe. I won't go so far as to say 3rd world.

Elected officials that care?! Ha. With rare exception, the average elected Congressman saw a stellar opportunity for a paycheck above their abilities and lifetime benefits and that is why they are in politics. Follow the money. What better employer than the government - which prints it.

Both republicans and democrats have sold out the American worker. Both parties are in the pocket of big business and the rich - republicans to an extreme. Clinton was a corporate democrat and did their bidding.

It would take a third party triggered by an economic depression to change things. Unfortunately, the mainstream media is so corporate the message is being very well controlled. I would not rate the chances of getting the USA out of the bad trade deals in the near future very highly.

So who would be left as a "1st world" country? Or is that what becomes of China? But "1st world" size doesn't equal "1st world" society and lifestyle to me......

There will be no first world anymore if the US keeps going like it is. First world is when the majority of its citizens enjoy a VERY high quality of life this is of course impossible if you are letting your boarders flood with illegals and you are in/out sourcing professional work (IT, engineering, etc) so that companies can get away with paying under market prices. First world is somewhere people make money to realize dreams (through hard work of course), my grand father during the time of WW2 was able to support a family of 3 on one income and buy an AIR PLANE!!!, hunting rifles, go on hunting trips etc with a coal miner wage. I will learn how to fly and maintain that plane but to start from scratch now days and think you can buy a plane and raise a family it will never happen, the numbers just dont add up anymore. My dream is to fly a pitts special, I went to engineering school and the whole nine yards, work in oil and gas and wages are so low compared to the cost of goods that it will take me until im 40 just to save for it (assuming im not laid off), that was not the case back in the day.
