From the desk of a person who was fired. It just wouldn't feel right and I know I will be called weird but I just can't do it.
It's your duty to spread them around

Says a LOT about where you work frankly.
How tacky!! Seeing as you are in the business of counselling ex-cons I find it extremely interesting that your supervisor is stealing from a former temporary employee. Sounds like something off of Monty Python or Saturday Night Live.

Since when it is professional not to have someone pickup their effects. Sounds like your "supervisor" has picked up some undesirable "skills" from the ex-cons that your office is "career counselling".

In this economy, food shouldn't be wasted by throwing it out. But the supervisor giving out someone else's food is like a dog owner throwing pieces of meat and having the dogs fight over it. Firing someone and then giving out their left over food is kind of dispicable.

The word 'rapacious' comes to mind...

I guess there was no solemnity about the act of terminating someone - which there should be even if justified.

That supervisor better hope the girl doesn't mention to her agency that she has some "personal items" to be picked up.

The manager (or whoever) should have packed ALL her belongings (including snacks) in a box and phoned her to pick them up.

Maybe it was a law firm. I've been in law 20 years. My first thought was to divy up her food.
