I just saw an ad for a new show, which I thought a LOT of people here would find interesting... called "The Fairy Jobmother" on Lifetime, premiering October 28th. Looks like it's a woman who helps unemployed folks, by offering advice on interviews, resumes, and personal appearance. Might be interesting!
Oh God, not that bloody woman getting on American TV.
I saw most of the British shows she did last year here and she did tend to pick the bottom of the barrel type people and exploit them. Most of them did end up with jobs in the end but it was quite embarrassing to watch. She's horribly brash, know-it-all and has the most irritating British accent you'll ever have heard. Why do your TV networks love to have snooty or abrupt British people belittle the ignorant and incompetent (Anne Robinson, Simon Cowell, Supernanny etc)?
I think Americans love a British accent. In one of our airports (in the Midwest, where Brits are not exactly abundant), the tram system uses the voice of a British woman. Very odd.

If she sounded like the Queen or something like your airport woman probably does then I could understand. That woman though has a grating north-west accent which you probably wouldn't recognise and most British people who know of her can't stand her bitchy superior manner. I don't suppose they'll show the US programme over here but I'd be interested to see what you lot make of her.
If she can't/won't tell them where the jobs are, waste of time ...
Anyone can spew hot air ... She's probably one of them - and making $$$ to boot.
I agree.
