Not a bad idea, I wish my company would 'show appreciation' to me. At least it implies that they think there will be more jobs going forth.

Same here! Been with my company for 3 years and in that time only got one raise in the amount of 3%!!
I think it's time to apply at Google!

I look on Google's site from time to time to see if they have any relevant openings in my area. With all the perks offered, the company sounds like a stand-up employer!

I'm a Silicon Valley high-tech veteran. I've worked for some of the big name companies for over 20 years (Sun Microsystems, Adobe). I say Bravo! to Google for giving thank-you perks to their employees. If you're thinking of applying there, please take note... Silicon Valley is flooded with qualified, if not over-qualified, high-tech folks who are out of work. Yahoo, Facebook, Google, eBay, Adobe, Netflix etc. are all based here and are bombarded every day with applications. So, if you want to pursue a position there, use your network base. One final comment: with the market flooded with applicants, these companies can be VERY picky and specific of who they offer jobs to. Best of luck and thank you Google for being a breath of fresh air!!

This is why I've tried getting a job at Google a few times over the past couple years. Wish they would call me back.
