Same here-- my company that has happened before--- we were consolidating that business and there was no where to put them. So they were all let go.

So i would defintely be sucidial because I would not know what else to do on my next job and would not have confidence in myself anymore.
My last layoff was understandable because I cost the company more money than what I made a year. But if I was laid off this time, I would not recover at all because I was always performing well which was just documented on the performance review I received last week

Sometimes people are laid off for reasons other than performance. I got laid off once because I was the highest paid employees in my job classification. They could cut me or two others, the logical thing to do was cut me. The other two workers were good employees, but I had been there longer and had been hired under an older "regime" when people were hired with higher entry salaries. Don't kid yourself if you think it can't happen.

I've seen well performing people fired because they were annoying nudges who were unable to read social cues. The two don't always go hand in hand.

That happened at my former place too. Top performers were let go all the way to the top whereas new people and underachievers whom you would think would be the first to go were retained. Something everyone that was let go had in common was that we were the highest paid people in our respective groups. It didn’t make sense letting good people go and keeping mediocrity.

In a nutshell he works for a social services agency placing at risk urban young adults into jobs and trying to keep them working rather than in jail.
It's quite possible that they have had a significant amount of funding cut and will be making changes in their organizational mission as a result.

PA just got a new, Republican, Governor who ran on a platform of fiscal responsiblity. In addition, PA is facing a budget crunch, so it's quite possible that funding has been cut. The state also works on a calendar year budget (Jan. to Dec.) not a fiscal year (Sept.-June) so it is very possible the new budget numbers dictate cuts.
I'm somewhat mean to TVSG but it would never be a good sign to collect laptops and cell phones at the same time. One or the other, maybe, but not both. I think it is quite likely that your shop is going to go through "restructuring" if not completely shut down. The fact that you've had 3 or 4 supervisors in 18 months, all of whom were fired, is a bad sign that should have raised alarm bells.

It could just be funding and everybody is just getting cut even though you are great employees. They could have even been interviewing because they wanted to hire somebody hoping that funding wouldn't be cut, but, it didn't come through. Keep us posted.

As far as helping out others, many of your posts have been highly disparaging of your fellow workers. You've mocked those who've been let go and if those unkind remarks are indicative of your "help" then you seriously need to rethink your attitude towards others.
The problem is that you continuously put a spin on everything and blame everyone else for the problems you encounter in the workplace. It's been suggested to you many times that you seek some counseling to get to the root of why your perceptions differ so much from those of others. Being fired is hardly cause to contemplate suicide but, if you ARE let go then maybe it'll be a wake-up call for you to get some professional help.

You really need to stop with the personal attacks in fact I would fire you before TV guy!
