Have a job interview tomorrow at 3pm. What are some good reasons of leaving early for the day?

Can you just take a half day? Do you have to give a reason why?

I could think of a ton of reasons.

Doctor's appt. for colonoscopy or something else very embarrassing
Need to pick up my grandma/mother/child/etc.
Funeral arrangements
Need to take car in to shop
Cable company is coming
UPS man needs signature for delivery

And the list goes on...

Why do you need to give a reason? Just say you need to leave to attend to a personal matter. That's it.

Tell him while eating lunch, a part of your filling fell out and you need to rush to your dentist.

I agree. Lying about it only complicates things...like remembering that you lied about it and what story to stick to. Vague excuses are best and if you are asked further, just say you don't really want to talk about it.
