One of the great things about sales is that I can kind of do whatever I want as long as I'm selling above my quote or goal. I've had supervisors give me crap, try to tell me what I can do, micromanage me....I told one of these to his face at work: "go **** yourself". It got me a meeting with a manager who asked me whath the problem was, I told him my manager sucks, and he said ok I'll assign you to another team. That simple. I sold a lot more than most people on my sales team, so they wouldn't get rid of me.
The best solution to this problem is to honestly just develop a good business relationship with your manager. Let him see how hard you work and show him you WANT to work hard. Show him you bring a lot to the table as an employee with ideas, good communication, and great examples of effort. If you show him/her those things, no one will be able to "get you fired" no matter what they say about you.
