As a manager, the only time I talked to my subordinates was to explain what they needed to do--if they didn't already know.

As an employee, I don't even want to SEE my boss. I don't want him to talk to me or feel that he has to check up on me. I like being left to my own devices, and I produce results as a result of NOT being micromanaged.

I don't socialize at work either.
