I am currently looking for a job, but these days it seems extremely hard. I have applied for over 200 positions with several different companies and I haven't heard back from any of them. My problem is that most employers are making you apply online rather than come in and fill out an application. With employers recieving thousands of resumes per day, it's hard to compete. Is there any suggestions what I could do to make my application and resume stand out from the others?
What type of education, training, and experience do you posess? Where (general desc. is enough) do you live, and what types of jobs have you applied for?

We require application online, and for my last hire we had over 100 applicants for a job requiring a fairly unique skill set. Of those only about a dozen met the actual minimum requirements and got interviews. Making resume "stand out" means that you list your experience and skills in the areas listed on the job announcement. Be sure that you re-write it specifically for each position applied for. Two many people obviously send the exact same resume to each employer, and those of us reviewing them can tell right away. Demonstrate not only your qualifications but also your enthusiasm for that specific job,
in the cover letter.
