Restaurants typically pay servers an hourly wage, which may be between $2 and $7; in addition to this, waiters and waitresses earn money from customer tips. Career Bliss, an online job-search community, noted that the average yearly earnings for full-time Olive Garden servers in 2010 was $23,000, including tips and hourly wages.

If that is so, do you blame them?

I'm sure Olive Garden waiters get a lot more under the table. It's a fairly expensive restaurant. I'd think they make at least $100 a day.

What astounds me about this article is that people patronize awful restaurants like Olive Garden! LOL

Being a server is one of the hardest jobs there is. Because you have to deal with a wide variety of morons on a minute-by-minute basis. They aren't paid nearly enough if you ask me.
